Single Mothers Got It Right!

Recurring challenges and adventures of single
motherhood, raising children may seem an
impossible achievement. Mothers all over prove
their strength/fortitude to overcome innumerable
confrontations. Fabulous single mothers manage
to ‘make it” despite unexpected hardships. There
are emotional, financial, physical and housing
challenges. Sometimes they may not know where
the next meal is coming from; but they persevere
with faith, never giving up. They find inner
strength and support from the Lord, grandparents
and other relatives who jump right on in there to
help. Some mothers are abandoned, others
divorced, and unexpected death leaving children to become orphans, etc. But, these great mothers still love their children and support them through thick and thin.

Oh! The love of mothers! Bless them! Good mothers don’t come prepackaged, highly educated and rich. One important factor is: these single mothers chose the road to childbirth rather than abortion. They laid aside fear and challenges of childrearing. Let’s applaud them, congratulate them and call them “Blessed!” Just think of great people who never made it through the birth channel. Millions did not. These did.

Birthplace: New York City, New York, United States of America. “Hitch” actress Eva Mendes was raised by her mother after her parents got divorced. Age: 44. Birthplace: Miami, Florida, United States of America. Eddie Murphy’s father died when he was very young. He was raised by his mother, Lillian, in Roosevelt, New York. Age: 57. Birthplace: New York City, New York, United States of America. Keanu Reeves’s father, Samuel Nowlin Reeves, Jr., abandoned his family when the “Matrix” actor was just three years old. Reeves was then raised by his mother, Patricia Bond, and at times, various stepfathers. Age: 54. Birthplace: Beirut, Lebanon.

Ben Carson: Sonya Robinson Carson, a single mother with little formal education, of Ben Carson, renowned pediatric is credited with having been the molding influence on his life; he has acknowledged numerous times. “All that I am is because of the love of my mother. “She was one of God’s greatest blessings to me, and it was her foresight and discernment that pushed me to reach my dreams.
