Perhaps some of this information is a bit technical as I do not usually write technical, but down to earth (hopefully). However, next week I will talk about where I’m going with this subject. I volunteered to have myself injected with the “corona virus” vaccine. The only reason I did was because I work with many people (including children) that I wanted everyone to know that I was concerned about them, even though I never had any symptoms to lead me to believe I might have or might catch the virus. I do and always did wear my mask. I also wanted to participate in helping to reduce the fear for those around me of taking the vaccine. It is a personal choice. That may not mean much to others, but it meant a lot to me to be a responsible leader. During my childhood, I recall my mother required me to take some of the more recently generally known vaccinations: such as measles, mumps, and rubella, and vaccines for these diseases reduced the prospect of contracting the disease burden greatly. As I have thought on this matter of “to take the vaccine or not to take it” I began to think about and mentally explore a little research about vaccines. references from “historyofvaccines.org. I know health departments and others are saying, “Get the vaccine. Get the vaccine: Phizer. Get the Maderna. Johnson & Johnson has been withdrawn with reports about blood clots. What really got my attention upon leaving the clinic where the vaccination was being administered, when the nurse or clerk or whoever it was, when she said to me, “Keep this card with you at all times. What!! I was astonished!” We got enough required things for us to do! Now, I have to do this too! To drive the car, we have to have a driver’s license.
Some people have to carry a card because they have some kind of illness. Don’t you just get tired of this department and that department telling you, “You got to do this. You got to do that.” Whow! So, now I’m thinking I have to be a “card carrying” whatever (things are getting tight)….Do I have to start carrying a card to walk down the street? Of course, seems like they (health officials and others, whoever) want you to wear this mask even when you’re going for a walk! Anywhoo…what’s going on? What is this coming to?
As I thought on these things, I said, maybe I should think more deeply on this matter. My curiosity has been increasingly aroused more and more. Just what do all these vaccines mean and what is the significance for years to come and the far future?? The beginning of vaccines starts with the long history of infectious disease in humans, and in particular, with early uses of smallpox material to provide immunity to smallpox disease. Evidence exists that the Chinese employed smallpox inoculation as early as 1000 CE (Common Era: current era) period from the birth of Jesus Christ, when the Christian calendar starts counting years as A.D.) BCE (before the common (or current) era.” Vaccine (smallpox vaccine) was practiced in Africa and Turkey as well, before spreading to Europe and the Americas. Edward Jenner’s innovations, began with his successful 1796 use of cowpox material to create immunity to smallpox, which resulted in the eradication of smallpox. Louis Pasteur’s 1885 rabies vaccine was the next to make an impact on human disease.
